Privacy Policy

Khatm AI (“the app”, “we”) is a free, offline Quran reader and memorization companion. This policy explains, in plain terms, what the app does and does not do with your information. It applies to the iOS and Android versions of the app.

Summary: Khatm AI does not collect, transmit, or sell personal data. There is no account, no advertising, no analytics, and no tracking.

1. Data we collect

None. We operate no servers, no accounts, and no analytics or advertising SDKs. No information about you or your device is transmitted to us, and we have no ability to identify an individual user.

Under Apple’s App Store privacy disclosure framework, the app is declared as Data Not Collected. Its PrivacyInfo.xcprivacy manifest declares no collected data types and no tracking domains.

2. Microphone and speech recognition

The app’s reading mode uses the microphone to follow your recitation and highlight the verse you are on.

Recognition runs entirely on your device, using a speech model bundled inside the app.
Audio is processed in memory only. It is not written to storage, not saved as a recording, and not transmitted anywhere.
The microphone is active only while a recitation session is running, and the system microphone indicator is visible for that entire period.
The app requests microphone permission the first time you start a session. You may decline; every other mode of the app continues to work.
You can revoke microphone access at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone (or Android Settings → Apps → Khatm AI → Permissions).

3. Information stored on your device

The following is stored in the app’s own private container on your device and is never sent off the device:

The error log records only technical failure messages generated by the app itself. It is never uploaded automatically. It is shared with us only if you choose to send it.

4. Deleting your data

Settings → Delete all data inside the app clears bookmarks, reading progress, last read position, and the error log.
Deleting the app removes its entire container, including every item in the table above.

Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to delete on our side and no account for us to close.

5. Network connections

The app is designed to work fully offline. It makes network requests only in these cases, and only as a direct result of an action you take:

Tafsir and translation downloads. When you choose a tafsir or translation book, the app downloads it from the public dataset at https://github.com/alheekmahlib/Islamic_database. The request contains no personal information beyond what any HTTPS request necessarily reveals to the host (such as your IP address). GitHub’s handling of that request is governed by GitHub’s Privacy Statement.
Recitation audio. Listening mode streams audio from the public Quran audio hosts used by the app’s recitation library. The same considerations apply.

We do not add identifiers, cookies, or tracking parameters to these requests, and we receive no information about them.

6. Tracking and advertising

The app performs no tracking as defined by Apple’s App Tracking Transparency framework. It contains no advertising, no advertising identifiers, no cross-app or cross-site tracking, and no third-party analytics. It never presents the tracking permission prompt because it has no use for it.

7. Children’s privacy

The app is suitable for all ages and collects no personal information from anyone, including children under 13. It contains no advertising, no in-app purchases, no user-generated content, no social features, and no external links to commercial destinations.

8. Your rights

Privacy laws such as the GDPR (EU/EEA), the UK GDPR, the CCPA/CPRA (California), and the KVKK (Türkiye) grant rights of access, correction, deletion, and portability over personal data held by a controller. Because Khatm AI collects and stores no personal data on any server, we hold nothing to disclose, correct, port, or erase. All data described in section 3 remains under your sole control on your own device.

We do not sell or share personal information, and we have never done so.

9. Security

Data stored by the app is confined to the app’s private container and is protected by the operating system’s application sandbox and, where the device is passcode-protected, by full-device encryption. All network requests described in section 5 use HTTPS. The app uses no custom or proprietary cryptography.

10. Religious content

Khatm AI presents the Quranic text and third-party tafsir and translation works for personal reading and study. It is a reading aid, not a religious authority, and no scholarly guidance should be inferred from its verse-tracking feedback. Attribution for the text, fonts, recitations, and commentary sources is listed in the app under Settings → Sources & licenses and in third-party-notices.md.

11. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the revised version will be published at this URL with an updated “Last updated” date. Material changes will also be noted in the app’s release notes. Because we hold no contact details, we cannot notify you individually.
